Virginia Beach Town Center

Before the Town Center was actually built, I was asked to be part of a charrette which would bring the community functions and the commercial functions together. These two concepts were unique for the small but growing city of Virginia Beach. The result was a design which required diversity. My forms were the beginning of forward thinking for community leads and the architectural firms which eventually built the center. The view above is from the rail line which is being built and the development. The view below is of the plaza which has been a major attraction in the city. Good urban planning pays. And when linked to good design it can be an engine for growth, health and community spirit.
