Thesis Remarks to August 15, 2008 Presentation

My comments from instructors:
1. (Heinrick): Relationship of building to setting. Increase the element of surprise for the minimalist approach, Entering the building should reveal the site beyond. Choreography of moving thru the space.
2. (Herb)Look at ‘Pocho Underhill’ Look at width of experience of the Art Cardo 15-20’. Look about the space.
3. (Heinrick)Ramp space - how would you view this as a central element. Depth
4. (Ian)Redraw building in AutoCAD with specific sizes of rooms.
5. (Ian)Document the experiences in the drawings.
6. (Dennis)Do individual vignettes as you would travel through the spaces
7. (Ian)Look at museums of Kahn and Pei which frees the center and looks for the a way of tying those spaces together. Free the center utility spaces for program spaces.
8. (Herb) -global comment: Look for being able to name what you don’t use and why you do not use them. Identify what some things don’t work in everything you try.
