The Section Path

The Building Section is through the south portion of the building. The first Floor is exhibition Space. Moisture and insulation barrier does to the underside of the floor above.
The planters are partially insulated so as not to freeze the root system of the extensive green roof.
Hollow core plank will provide a chase for some heating. Planks will provide both ventilation and chase for electrical without having to use the space between the ceiling and bottom of the 8" hollow core plank system. Additional sway frame will be placed in the back and side walls and in the shaft area to provide additional stiffness during erection.

Tom, much improved. You are almost off the hook. Your environmental grand idea works with water management. Your details aren’t quite convincingly showing how you keep water out of the living spaces, and how you collect it to bring to the cistern. Check out some green roof literature. See Karrick’s blog for a web address, also check out his interpretation of chilled beam.

Thanks for pushing me- I really like this class! I think most american architects try to treat the facade as a curtain wall and I struggle to make it more expressive of the relationship between the historic neighborhood and technology. I stayed up till 2:00p.m and I do have autocad files but do not have access to a pdf writer. My computer here at work is doing crazy things.
