The new building will utilize a Chilled Beam System in class rooms and in individual Residential Suites. The Humus fired Boiler located in the basement will be supplemented by gas fired coils for use when the Humus system is off line for cleaning or inactivity. The use of the water storage tank in the center of the building will maintain water temperature of between 59 and 63 degrees. This will reduce energy consumption. Also, it should be noted that the Chilled beam system will reduce duct work by 50%. From the enclosed graphic- instead of the lake supply, my building will maintain the 4,000 gallon storage tank.

Tom, interesting approach to cooling. Does your structural system (Construction Type) allow for exposed steel, or are you considering a similar system as Karrick is proposing? Please investigate and clarify, as it has a big impact on your structural systems description and diagram due mid week.
