The second floor contains the living quarters of 24 students. In each room will be two students with a eventual expansion to three if necessary. the ceiling will be tall and employ indirect lighting with fixed windows. Each room will contain beds a desk and a portable storage /locker for valuables and clothing. Each pod of three rooms will look out over the area in a non-true compass direction which will allow vista of the surrounding neighborhoods.
A circular plan will be used with core area toilet rooms which will align with the utility area of the first floor. Egress and exit will be remotely located to provide the maximum separation of the stairs. The Elevator will be located near the front of the entry below. The finishes for all areas with the exception of the toilet rooms will be light colored wood and finished masonry construction. The study area will employ the use of indirect lighting and will contain the necessary window area to provide sidelight where possible. The Study area because of its location to the entry below will be separated and insulated metal students for a maximum isolation, and along will glass will have the most sound isolated than any area in the building envelop.

Tom, nice description of your layout of the building. Maybe too descriptive for the “container” and not as much of the activities and uses. But I think it is a good start to get into the schematic design. We might have to work a little on loosing some pre-conceived notions about the building. Please add a table of areas.
